Dear Friends,

I hope you are all keeping safe and taking the advice of the medical personnel and civil authorities to ensure that we finally beat this scourge, and come out stronger together!

The current lockdown is an opportunity for every one of us to catch up on those important but not urgent things that we always put off for later, just because the urgent things always barged in.

From a PMI® perspective, we are transitioning to a fully Digital offering and there are many initiatives and plans from Global and from ourselves here at the Local Chapter that will continue to be shared. One of those is the PMP® 2020 Initiative, which was shared by Eng. Gerald Isabirye, our VP- Membership & Volunteers, and is being coordinated by Mr. Morris Kananura (special thanks to him for volunteering to lead this). Please read that information and internalise it, because it contains important updates, particularly to the how the PMP Exam will be done in the future, and of course the existing discounts that we encourage you all to take advantage of. And of course, if there are any needs for clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out through the shared/available means.

We also had shared a Calendar for the PMI® Uganda 2020 Events, some of which have already been interrupted, but we will try to run those remaining, as best as we can. The updates to this Calendar will be provided as the situation becomes clearer.

I want to assure you that we will continue to support you our members, all practitioners and organisations in this time of disruption, and continue to urge you to not let this time go to waste. As part of this commitment, you can rely on a number of virtual PMI® resources in the months ahead. For now, I will leave you with a COVID-19 Digital Resource Hub, which I am sure will be very helpful during these interesting times… please enjoy and above all, share widely: https://www.pmi.org/about/coronavirus-single-source-message/resource-hub

Please stay tuned for more by looking out on this forum and our other digital platforms…

With kind regards,

Maurice Barigye, PMP®
