Hajj Abdul Nsubuga, PMP. is a seasoned certified Project Management Professional (PMP); and the 1st PMP in Uganda since Feb 2007.  He has a Master’s degree in Computer Science, a Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Science; and a series of specialized certificates in project management and ICT. Hajj Abdul, is the founder member, the 1st President and 1st Past President of PMI Uganda Chapter. In the last 7 years, Hajj Abdul has been training organizations and individuals in project management that enabled them become PMPs.  Hajj Abdul is a badged PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP).   He is a long time PMI volunteer, attended many Global and Regional PMI conferences and presented papers in some conferences.  He taught project management at the College of Computing & Information Sciences at Makerere University and at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels for over 8 years.  Hajj Abdul has over 28 years of experience working with large organizations both in public and private sectors; spent the same (18 years) period in effective programme and project management, and 7 years dedicated to the extensive World Bank (WB) funded projects.  Some of the national projects he managed included: Skilling Uganda Projects (WB funded) in the Ministry of Education & Sports as the Project Coordinator, Regional Communication Infrastructure Project (WB funded) at NITA-U as the Project Manager, National ID Project (National Security Information Systems), as the Project Manager and later as Head of Secretariat at Ministry of Internal Affairs / NIRA, Warid Telecom Uganda & Cote D’Ivorie in West Africa; and very many infrastructure projects at UTL and other private contractors.  The Integrated Hospital Management Information System (iHMIS) at Ministry of Health as a Project Management Expert under Integrated Intelligent Computer Systems (IICS) Technologies is another national project Hajj Abdul was involved. Currently, Hajj Abdul is providing project management expertise at Uganda Security Printing Company (USPC); a Government company mandated to print all security related documents in Uganda.

 

Hajj Abdul has touched on hundreds of people and helped them grow their careers in project management; and has worked so hard to interest Government to appreciate the project management as a key competence in enabling efficacy of Government services.  Haj Abdul is one of the Directors at PPMSI.
