Ronald has been a member of PMI Uganda Chapter for over 7 years and has previously volunteered as chair Elections Organizing Committee for 2 terms. He is a PMP, PMI-PBA and holds the Agile Hybrid Pro Micro-Credential. Outside PMI he is a PRINCE2 Practitioner, COBIT, TOGAF among other certifications. he is passionate about driving Chapter Visibility and professional growth through Certifications and Micro-Credentials.

Mallo P. Lokiru, PMP®
Secretary

Mallo P. Lokiru, PMP® is a practicing Economic Planner and Biostatistician, highly trained in Project Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Economics and Applied Statistics and with hands-on experience in the implementation including evaluation of programs and/or projects for Government of Uganda and Nongovernmental Organizations. With dedication to international and national standards, guidelines, and practices, he is certified and a holder of the globally recognized credential, Project Management Professional, PMP® issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI) located in Pennsylvania, USA (www.pmi.org). He is also certified and recognized as a technical and experienced member of the Uganda Evaluation Association (www.uea.org), and the Uganda Statistical Society (www.theuss.org). In addition to the aforementioned, he serves on the Board of Directors of PMI-Uganda Chapter as its Secretary. He holds a Bachelor of Economics and Applied Statistics, Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation.

Over the years, he has been directly engaged in the implementation of the World Bank funded projects’ of NUSAF3 (US$130million) and the Regional Pastoral Livelihoods Resilience Project (US$40million), as part of the technical implementation team in the districts of Karenga and Kaabong respectively. The former was implemented under the Uganda’s Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), and the latter was by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF). He has also executed in the past, a number of consultancies and assignments in socio-economic development.

His key technical areas of interest include: Project Management using Predictive, Hybrid, and Agile Methodologies; Economic Growth & Development; Statistical Data Analysis (Both Quantitative & Qualitative) and utilization for evidence-based decision making; Geo-referenced Mapping; Surveillance and M&E of Malaria Programs; Nutrition Sensitive Interventions; Strategic Planning; and Project Sustainability.

I have competence and hands-on experience on the use of: SPSS; ArcGIS; DHIS2; EMIS; Advanced MS Excel; ODK; Kobo Toolbox; GoU Programme Budgeting System (PBS); MS Project; Power Bi; and hand-held devices such as GPS’s.

Nyakalaya Sandra Mulindwa

Eng. Gerald Isabirye, PMP®

Gerald is currently the Manager Fiber & Enterprise Projects at MTN Uganda. He has extensive experience in managing multiple interdependent and concurrent ICT & Telecom projects through their life cycles. He has an excellent understanding of the PMO governance & methodologies to initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects delivering business value and delighting customers. He also has exceptional stakeholder engagement skills right from technical staff to vendor management and to senior management level and has successfully closed projects worth $50m cumulatively in CAPEX over the last 8 years.

Gerald has been part of PMI Uganda Chapter since 2014 has participated in several Chapter events including the first National Project Management Conference in 2017. In his role as VP Members & Volunteers, he will be responsible for addressing the needs of chapter membership & volunteers, including recruitment, retention,

Maurice Barigye, PMP®
Past President

Maurice is a vastly experienced, highly skilled Project Management Expert, Electrical & Telecoms Engineer and ICT professional. Maurice has gathered extensive technical, commercial and management experience from a thus-far comprehensive and greatly successful career in the Telecommunications, ICT and Renewable Energy sectors, spanning 20+ years, performing effectively as a leader of teams and a mentor.

Maurice is a holder of the internationally recognised PMP® Credential, and also of the proprietary Ericsson Experienced Project Manager, CSI Experienced (EPM, CSI-Experienced) Certification.

Maurice is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Nexus Green Limited, a British renewable energy EPC firm, with operations in several countries around the world. He has also been a Managing Director of ADC International Ltd, an ICT firm in Uganda that specializes in Digital Advertising and Marketing solutions. Before that, Maurice spent 10 years with Ericsson AB, delivering several multi-million-dollar programs and projects across several countries as Project and Programme Manager, and eventually as Head of CSI Solutions Delivery in East, Central and Southern Africa. Maurice has also worked with the Telecoms Regulator in Uganda, the Uganda Communications Commission and with several other leading ISP firms in Uganda and Kenya.

Maurice loves volunteering and was one of the founding Steering Committee members of the PMI Uganda Chapter in 2014; he now currently serves as the President of the Board. He loves the outdoors, extreme adventure and is also an avid sports fan- a passionate supporter of Liverpool Football Club and of any team that beats the English Cricket Team 😊😊.

Okello James PMP®
Director Outreach

James is a managing partner| Practitioner at James Ok and Partners- Certified Public
Accountant since 2017. He has more than 12 years of experience in public accounting. He
applies his strong business and analytical capabilities to help clients improve their business
operations.
In addition to accounting, auditing, and tax planning services, he also provides internal control
evaluation, litigation support, financial reporting, financial analysis, business planning, and
management consulting services.
James is a Certified Public Accountant and has significant experience providing fraud
prevention and detection services.
He is a member of Public Practice Panel of the professional standards committee of the
council of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
As a practitioner of the dynamic Audit Firm, he has managed several projects in the areas of
audits and business consultancies.
His recent projects include; Internal Controls -Agreed Upon Procedures with Total Uganda-
Service Stations in Western and Eastern Uganda.

Hajj Abdul Nsubuga, PMP®
Founding Member of the Chapter

Chaired the Steering Committee that steered the PMI Uganda Chapter through the formulation stage until it was chartered. He became the 1st PMI Uganda Chapter President and promoted the chapter in the region. Attended many EMEA and North America LIM; and PMI Africa Conferences. Abdul is also the 1st Past President of the Chapter.
Has over 20 + years’ experience working with large organizations (like Telecom, IT and TVET) both public and private sectors; of which 12 + years’ experience in effective programme and project management. Familiar with World Bank funded projects procedures and guidelines.

Currently, working as a Consultant at Ministry of Education and Sports as a Deputy Project Coordinator for 2 TVET Skills Development Projects worth USD $ 127 Million funded by World Bank; spearheaded (as an in house Technical Advisor) the designing, pre-appraisal, appraisal and negotiations of World Bank funded project called Regional Communications Infrastructure Program (RCIP) at NITA-U. Abdul previously also Headed the Secretariat for a National ID Project in Uganda. Abdul has trained many professionals in project management at different levels: Bachelor, Masters and professionals; and many have become PMPs. He his personate about the profession, and will continue to support and promote the project management profession.
