Here are some key milestones in our chapter’s history:
2005 – Inception of PMI Uganda Chapter
- In 2005, PMI Uganda Chapter was officially established as a local chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI). This marked the beginning of our journey to promote project management best practices and principles in Uganda.
2007 – First PMP Certification
- In 2007, our chapter celebrated its first Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. This achievement showcased our commitment to helping our members achieve professional excellence in project management.
2010 – Expansion of Educational Programs
- In 2010, we expanded our educational programs to provide our members with a broader range of opportunities for continuous learning. We introduced workshops, seminars, and webinars to enhance their project management skills.
2015 – First Regional Conference
- In 2015, PMI Uganda Chapter organized its first regional conference, bringing together project management professionals from across East Africa. This event provided a platform for knowledge sharing and networking.
2020 – Introduction of Agile Certification
- In 2020, we introduced Agile certification programs to meet the evolving needs of project managers in an ever-changing business landscape. This step further solidified our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends.
Present – Ongoing Growth and Impact
- Today, PMI Uganda Chapter continues to grow and make a significant impact on the project management community in Uganda. We remain dedicated to providing our members with valuable resources, networking opportunities, and support for their professional development.
