  • New Year Message from the President
Eng. Irene Nattabi

3rd January 2023

Dear PMI Uganda Chapter Member,

Welcome to a new fiscal year! PMI Uganda is excited to begin a new season of learning, networking and events. I am honoured to be in a position to serve the PMI Uganda community alongside the incredible individuals on our Board of Directors who volunteer their time and talents to keep our PMI Chapter in good standing. We are committed to delivering the highest standard of content, programs, and experience to our membership and volunteers

PMI Uganda has much to offer you, from networking, certification training to volunteer opportunities. Visit our website, https://pmiuganda.org for member benefits and programs of interest to you. These include networking; study groups; mentoring; webinars; and jobs board. Contact me anytime at irene.nattabi@pmiuganda.org if you have any questions about our chapter.

With over 400 members strong, you make our chapter great! Here are our vision, vision, and value statements:

VISION: To be a single point of reference for all matters of project management in Uganda

MISSION: To build a community of professionals & volunteers to advance project management practices, methodologies and values of the Chapter.

CORE VALUES: Professionalism, Adaptability, Volunteerism, Excellence and Responsiveness (PAVER)

This year we will focus on these three areas:

  1. Member growth, value and retention

Engage with corporate, government and education institutions to grow membership to 500 and beyond this year. All Chapter core programs must be of value and benefit our members.

  1. Cohesive programming and engagement strategy

Focus on key high-quality events, experiences and content as opposed to quantity. Engage with Authorized Training Partners (ATPs) on strategic objectives.

  1. Reduce complexity through use of resilient digital platforms

Streamline Chapter processes, deliverables, and operations across all chapter programs to maximize the membership experience

Save the date: Thursday, April 27, 2023 for our 3rd National Project Management Conference! This will be an in-person event. A Call for Speakers is will open soon for those of you who are interested in being presenters.

More Board and Volunteers New: Our board includes project managers with diverse backgrounds and experience with project management.  I am so excited to work with this team of volunteers this year.  If you are interested in joining the board, we always welcome additional Directors at Large. We are grateful for eight of our members who have volunteered and taken up vacant board roles until we organize elections to fill them up.

A special thank you to outgoing board members Ronald Sekajja, David Muhairwe and Eng. Gerald Isabirye whose terms expired while Ronald Sekajja requested to step down due to tight work schedules. We are very appreciative to the many years of service from the outgoing board members.
